Is this thing on?

::ahem::

So, hi! It’s been a while, huh? I mean, probably about a month ago, I went away. I kept trying to come back, but it hasn’t been working out so well. Oops! I had just gotten a bunch of new readers too! So, if you’re out there, friends, I’m back!

I don’t really know what to write about. I’ve been pretty lame for a while now. As my previous employer stopped sending paychecks with any sort of frequency, my budget hit the brakes, and I basically stopped doing anything that cost money. But, to be honest, I’ve been working with that for a while now. What it really means is that I canceled a couple of weekend  trips that I wanted to go on. Meh, whatever. Gas prices are obscenely high, and the last thing I need to do is spend money.

This means that I’ve been reading. A LOT. I have now worked my way through some pretty intense novels, all of which I have adored.

First of all, I went with the Dragonlance Chronicles.  My brother had given me an anthology of the three books when we were growing up, and I thought I’d pick them up again. Turns out that I was a pretty accomplished reader when I was a pre-teen. I needed a good fantasy novel, and three as a trilogy were even better! Dragons and Elves and Warriors and Magicians… yes please. After reading the 1000+ amazing pages, I knew I wasn’t done. I spoke to the bookseller next to my mom’s store, and she sold me her favorite volumes of another Dragonlance trilogy, and I was lost for another few weeks. Then, this past weekend when I was at my parents house, my mom handed me The Historian, and in the last 2 days, I’ve spent at least 6 hours a day reading.

I just put it down, and I must say, if you like historical fiction and are intrigued by the concept of Dracula, READ THIS BOOK. It is so incredibly well written in an entirely nerdy way. I loved it. LOVED IT. It was like The DaVinci Code, only having almost nothing to do with the church. (Thats kindof a lie. Churches come into play, but not in a controversial way.)

So, that’s what I’ve been reading. What about you?
